A specialist education setting in Hillingdon is looking for a Food Technology Teacher to deliver engaging, practical lessons to young people with SEMH needs.

This is an opportunity for a teacher who can combine strong subject knowledge with patience, structure and a genuine ability to build positive relationships.

The Role

You will deliver practical Food Technology lessons while helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.

You will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons

• Teach practical cooking, food preparation and relevant theory

• Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs

• Maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour

• Assess and monitor pupil progress

• Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment

• Build positive relationships and understand individual barriers to learning

• Work alongside pastoral and support staff

• Contribute to EHCP reviews and pupil progress where required

Who We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher with strong Food Technology subject knowledge

• Creative, adaptable and well organised

• Confident managing challenging behaviour

• Patient, resilient and consistent

• Able to build trust and positive relationships

• Committed to inclusion and individual progress

Experience within SEMH, SEN, alternative provision or specialist education is desirable, but experienced mainstream Food Technology Teachers will also be considered.
