I am seeking an experienced English & Maths teacher for a Creative SEND College based in Tower Hamlets, you will be a pivotal part of the college being the only functional skills teacher the students will look to you for their support in these subjects. This SEND college delivers an inclusive, creative education that prepares young people for adulthood and their real lives - not just a learning environment. Offering industry-informed programmes, digital media, practical skills, independence, entrepreneurship, and pathways to employment within the creative economy.
The college has access to excellent resources for the students to learn from their practical based curriculum, what this means is you'll be able to make your English & Maths lesson FUN! Using the materials from their other lessons to help breakdown the subject in a way for the students to keep engaged.
Your learners will have autism, learning disabilities and SEMH needs, but they are independent - not only are you teaching them maths & English but also incorperating independence, encouraging friendships and employability.
You must have the following to be considered:
- QTS or QTLS (ECTS are welcome to apply)
- Experience of at least one full academic cycle of English & maths delivery including functional skills exams.
- Experience working in a SEND setting.
- Proactive attitude.
- Positive mindset.
- SEND experience within a post 16 setting
