Not every teaching role is about filling a gap.
Some are about finding the right place to stay.
Here at Parker Smith Inclusion, we are working with a specialist setting seeking a Science Teacher to join on a temporary-to-permanent basis, offering the opportunity to step in, make an impact, and grow into a long-term position.
A temp-to-perm opportunity allows you to be part of that journey properly, you’ll have the time to understand each student, build meaningful connections, and become a consistent presence, not just another face passing through.
This is a role where relationships take time, where trust isn’t given instantly, and where consistency matters more than anything else.
This isn’t about stepping in temporarily and moving on, it’s about seeing the potential in a setting and in its students and having the opportunity to become part of it long-term, you’ll see the impact of your work not just in results, but in confidence, engagement, and belief and if it’s the right fit, you’ll be there to continue that journey.
The Students
The students you’ll be working with have experienced education differently.
Many have faced disruption, setbacks, or environments that didn’t quite meet their needs. Some may arrive guarded, some disengaged, and others unsure of their own ability.
They may have ASC, SEMH, or Moderate Learning Difficulties, and often need more than just subject knowledge, they need patience, structure, and someone who sees beyond first impressions.
Progress here doesn’t always look like perfect answers or silent classrooms.
Sometimes it looks like a student staying in the room, Sometimes it’s contributing to a lesson after weeks of silence, Sometimes it’s simply trying. And those moments matter.
Your Role
- You will deliver GCSE Biology (AQA) lessons and support learners working towards Entry Level Science qualifications, ensuring content is accessible, engaging, and relevant.
- You’ll adapt your teaching to meet a wide range of needs, breaking learning down into manageable steps and celebrating progress at every stage.
- You will also support the day-to-day running of the department — preparing practicals, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and organised learning space.
- Your classroom will be a place of predictability and calm, where students feel secure enough to engage and take risks in their learning.
What You Bring
- Secure understanding of AQA Science, particularly GCSE Biology and Entry Level.
- Experience working with students with SEND.
- Confidence supporting practical science and maintaining a safe lab environment.
- A calm, consistent approach and the ability to build trust over time.
