You’ve completed your degree, but you’re looking for more than just a job. You want a role where you can genuinely make a difference, build meaningful relationships, and gain experience that has real purpose.
Working as a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant gives you the opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs while developing invaluable skills for careers in education, psychology, therapy, social work, or mental health.
This is not just classroom experience, it’s the chance to become a consistent, positive presence in a young person’s life.
As a Graduate SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll support students with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.
You may work 1:1, in small groups, or within the classroom, helping students engage with learning, regulate emotions, and build confidence socially and academically.
Every day will be different, but your role will always centre around patience, encouragement, and understanding.
For some students, the right support can completely transform their experience of education.
