Graduate SEN Support Assistant
London Borough of Havering
£90–£100 per day (PAYE) | Full-time | Temp-to-perm
Graduate with purpose. Start where you’re needed most.
You've finished university and now you're looking for something meaningful — something that challenges you, grows you, and genuinely makes a difference.
This could be it.
We're looking for compassionate, committed graduates to step into full-time SEN Teaching Assistant roles in schools across the London Borough of Havering. These are temp-to-perm opportunities, meaning you’ll start on a temporary basis with the view to becoming a permanent member of staff if it’s the right fit for both you and the school.
The settings that I work in partnership with vary — from mainstream schools with specialist SEN provisions, to dedicated SEN schools supporting pupils with needs such as autism (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). What they all have in common is the need for consistent, emotionally intelligent support — and that's where you come in.
Why this role matters:
You’ll be working directly with pupils who rely on the presence of people who care — people who show up, listen, and support. This work isn’t easy, but it’s real, and it matters. No two days will be the same — but every one of them will count.
Whether you’re aiming for a career in teaching, psychology, therapy, or inclusive education — or simply want a year of impact and clarity before your next step — this experience will stay with you for life.
We’re looking for graduates who are:
-
Reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely motivated by helping others
-
Able to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm)
-
Interested in gaining meaningful experience in the SEN/education sector
-
Based in or able to commute to Havering
In return, you’ll get:
-
Paid, hands-on experience in real school settings
-
Insight into a range of SEN needs and support approaches
-
A clear path to permanent employment if the placement goes well
-
Mentoring, guidance, and access to further opportunities in education
-
A structured routine with evenings and weekends free
This isn’t just about building a CV — it’s about discovering what drives you and where you thrive.
If you’re ready to step into a role that offers both challenge and reward — and gives you the chance to grow personally and professionally — I’d love to hear from you.
