Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant - Feltham
Do you want to gain hands-on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs while working towards a career in teaching, clinical psychology, child psychology, social work, or pastoral care?
If so, this role is the perfect first step.
You can gain first-hand experience with children and young people with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, ODD, and complex learning needs.
In order to be able to work as a Teaching Assistant, you must be able to demonstrate practical-based experience, whether this is part of your placement or another area, relating to working with children in a school.
The Role:
- Students: Supporting small class groups of 5-10 pupils with various needs from ASC, SLD, SEMH, and Complex Needs
- Duties: Supporting the class teacher and work 121, and providing holistic approaches as well as a trauma-informed approach
- Promote emotional well-being: Offer reassurance and encouragement to build pupils’ confidence and resilience.
- Help with personal care (if required): Support pupils with physical needs, mobility, or hygiene tasks sensitively and safely.
- Collaborate with staff and professionals: Work alongside teachers, therapists, and external specialists to meet pupils’ needs.
