Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants for full-time roles within specialist SEND settings across Barnet.
For the right graduate, this isn't simply something to put on your CV. It can give you daily experience of communication, learning, emotional regulation, behaviour and child development that is difficult to understand from textbooks alone.
What could you learn?
Working alongside experienced SEND professionals, you could gain practical experience of:
- Autism and different communication styles
- Individual approaches to learning
- Emotional regulation
- Building professional relationships with children
- Supporting independence
- Adapting activities to individual needs
- Understanding behaviour as communication
- Working within a multidisciplinary environment
You will also support pupils individually and in small groups throughout the school day.

- Psychology

- Health and Social Care
- Speech and Language related degrees
- Youth Studies
However, your degree title isn't the deciding factor.
We are more interested in whether you are patient, dependable and genuinely interested in SEND.
Essential
- Degree-level education
- Availability for full-time, Monday–Friday work
- Genuine interest in working with children or young people
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Patience and emotional maturity
- Willingness to learn
Experience through volunteering, tutoring, youth work, care, mentoring, coaching or supporting SEND would be beneficial.
