Are you a recent Graduate looking to start your career in education supporting students with special needs. We are working alongside a mainstream secondary school based in Hanwell, Ealing who are looking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistants to aid learning for students with special needs. You will be working with students with Autism and/or additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis in mainstream classes across a variety of subjects promoting independence and working on raising attainment.
This will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately with the opportunity to go permanent upon review. The daily rate will be between £90 to £100 depending on your experience. This is an exciting opportunity for Graduates who are seeking to gain school-based experience supporting students with special needs.
The role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support that reflects each students individual learning and communication needs
- Implement visual aids and consistent routines to encourage engagement and maintain focus
- Support pupils with sensory regulation while promoting positive behaviour strategies
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team to support students’ overall development
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
The ideal candidate:
- Recent Graduate with a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Maths, English or Science
- Professional or personal experience supporting children or young people with special needs
- A genuine interest in developing a career in special needs
- Calm, patient and positive with a proactive attitude towards supporting learning
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM
