Are you a recent Graduate looking to start your career in education supporting primary aged students with additional needs. We are working alongside a mainstream primary school based in Hayes, Hillingdon who are looking to appoint Graduate Teaching Assistants to aid learning for students with special needs. You will be working 1:1 with students with Autism and/or associated learning needs across KS1 or KS2 supporting in their development and managing student behaviour.
This will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately with the opportunity to go permanent upon review. The daily rate will be between £90 to £100 depending on your experience. This is an exciting opportunity for Graduates who are seeking to gain school-based experience supporting students with special needs.
The role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support that reflects each students individual learning and communication needs
- Implement visual aids and consistent routines to encourage engagement and maintain focus
- Support pupils with sensory regulation while promoting positive behaviour strategies
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team to support students’ overall development
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
The ideal candidate:
- Recent Graduate with a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Maths, English or Science
- Professional or personal experience supporting children or young people with special needs
- A genuine interest in developing a career in special needs
- Calm, patient and positive with a proactive attitude towards supporting learning
- Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM
- Dependable and committed to a long-term role where consistency and stability are important
