Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting ambitious and personable graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in supportive primary, secondary and specialist schools across Camden.

You do not need to have worked in a school before.

We are looking for graduates who can connect with young people, communicate confidently and bring patience, energy and consistency into the classroom. Your degree subject is less important than your attitude and your genuine interest in helping pupils succeed.

What will you actually be doing?

No two days will be exactly the same. You could be:

• Supporting a pupil who lacks confidence with their learning

• Helping a child with autism or ADHD remain engaged in lessons

• Working with small groups on literacy, numeracy or communication

• Encouraging pupils to become more independent

• Supporting behaviour positively and calmly

• Assisting teachers with classroom activities

• Becoming a trusted and consistent adult for a young person

You will gain practical experience that cannot be learned from a textbook, including classroom management, safeguarding, SEND support, communication strategies and an understanding of how children learn.

Who are we looking for?

This opportunity could be perfect for you if you:

• Have recently completed a degree in any subject

• Are considering teaching, psychology, therapy, social work or mental health

• Enjoy working with children or young people

• Are calm, reliable and willing to learn

• Can commit to a full academic year

• Are available Monday to Friday during school hours

Experience in schools is not essential.

You may already have relevant experience without realising it. This could include tutoring, coaching, mentoring, childcare, summer camps, youth work, volunteering, care work or supporting younger family members.
