Headteacher – Ealing

£72,500 – £82,500 annual salary

Full-time

Permanent contract

September 2026 start

Are you a leader who believes that every child deserves an education shaped around their individual needs, not limited by them? As Headteacher, you will have the opportunity to set the vision, culture, and direction of a school where inclusion is not just an aim, but a lived reality every day.

About the school:

A specialist independent school in Ealing providing a structured and supportive environment for pupils aged 7–19. The school offers personalised education for young people with SEND, particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside autism and associated challenges.

With a strong focus on therapeutic support and individual progress, the school combines tailored academic pathways with wellbeing and behaviour support, helping pupils re-engage with education, build resilience, and develop key life skills.

Key features include:

  • Specialist SEND provision, with a focus on SEMH and autism
  • Individualised learning plans and flexible curriculum pathways
  • Integrated therapeutic and behavioural support
  • High staff-to-student ratios and structured routines
  • Emphasis on reintegration, independence, and positive outcomes

About the role:

You will lead and shape a specialist secondary and post-16 provision for pupils with SEMH needs, setting a clear vision that balances high expectations with compassion and understanding. You will be responsible for driving school improvement, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and creating a safe, structured environment where every young person can succeed. You will work closely with staff, families, and external partners to develop consistent, trauma-informed approaches that support both behaviour and wellbeing. As Headteacher, you will also manage and develop a committed team, ensuring they feel supported, challenged, and aligned to the school’s values. Your leadership will be central to building a culture where students are empowered to re-engage with education and prepare confidently for their next steps.

Who this role will suit:

You are an experienced and reflective leader with a strong commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people with SEMH needs. You will bring a deep understanding of behaviour, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice, alongside the resilience and emotional intelligence needed to lead in a complex and rewarding environment. You are someone who can build trust quickly, communicate with clarity and empathy, and remain calm and solution-focused under pressure. You will be motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible difference, and confident in your ability to inspire and develop others while holding high expectations for both staff and students. If you are driven by purpose and ready to take on a role where your impact will be both immediate and lasting, this position is likely to be a strong fit for you.
