Are you passionate about supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn?

We are recruiting on behalf of welcoming, inclusive SEND schools seeking full-time, long-term Behaviour Mentors to work alongside teachers in supporting both primary and secondary pupils. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting impact in established SEND settings.

About the Role

You will support pupils with EHCPs and additional needs, including Autism, associated needs, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will work closely with teachers and the school’s SEND leadership team to provide personalised support, implement behaviour strategies, and promote pupils’ well-being.

This role allows you to be part of a strong, collaborative team while contributing to routines, strategies, and interventions tailored to each pupil’s needs.

The School Environment

Our schools are nurturing, values-led, and fully inclusive, where SEND and SEMH support is embedded into everyday school life.

Emotional well-being, consistency, and strong relationships are prioritised, and staff are trusted to use their professional judgement to support pupils effectively, as so many of these pupils struggle on a day-to-day basis and have many complex social and emotional needs.

Who This Role Is For

Experienced Behaviour Mentors, Teaching Assistants, or Support Staff

Primary or Secondary experience with strong Autism/SEND knowledge

Staff passionate about SEMH and well-being support

Staff looking to specialise or grow in SEND and SEMH provision

You will be well-suited if you:

Have experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, and associated needs

Have a background in youth work, social justice, inclusion services and/or alternative education

Value structure, routine, and emotional regulation

Build relationships based on trust and empathy

Are reflective, patient, and committed to inclusive practice

What You’ll Receive

Competitive pay: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)

Small class sizes with strong team support

Supportive SEND leadership and SLT

Full-time, long-term contracts providing stability and growth opportunities

Chance to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ well-being and development

If you are looking for a rewarding, full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant role where you can support pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing, this is an excellent opportunity.
