Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream setting?
Do you have the confidence to lead interventions, adapt learning for pupils with additional needs, and provide meaningful support across the primary age range?

A vibrant mainstream primary school in Barking & Dagenham is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong SEND focus. You’ll be supporting children with a range of needs including autism, speech & language difficulties, ADHD, and social/emotional challenges, while also covering lessons and running small-group work.

This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real impact in an inclusive school that champions every child’s potential.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting

  • Confidence to deliver interventions and differentiated activities

  • Ability to cover lessons, lead small groups, and support pupils 1:1 when needed

  • Strong knowledge of strategies for children with autism, social communication needs, and dysregulated behaviour

  • A HLTA qualification (desirable but not essential)

The Details:

  • Full-time role, Monday–Friday (8:30am–3:30pm), term time only

  • Child & Adult DBS on the update service is highly desirable
