HLTA – SEND Specialist – Mainstream Primary (Barking & Dagenham)
Location: Barking & Dagenham (Mainstream Primary)
Pay: £100–£130 per day (PAYE only)
Temp-to-perm pathway after 24 weeks

Do you have the skills to adapt learning, run interventions, and provide meaningful support for pupils with additional needs?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barking & Dagenham is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong SEND focus. You’ll support children with a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional challenges, while helping them reach their full potential.
This is a pivotal role where you’ll both deliver targeted interventions and cover lessons, making a real difference across the school.
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience supporting children with SEND in a primary setting

Confidence in leading small groups, delivering interventions, and adapting activities

Ability to step in for class cover when needed

Strong understanding of strategies for autism, communication needs, and emotional regulation

HLTA qualification is desirable but not essential
