Play a Key Role in Inclusive Education

We are working with a warm and inclusive mainstream primary school in Barking and Dagenham that is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a strong SEND background. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on supporting pupils with additional needs while taking on wider responsibilities across the school.

You will work with children across EYFS to Key Stage 2, supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social and emotional challenges. Your role will involve delivering targeted interventions, adapting learning, and providing class cover when required.

Your Role

  • Support pupils with SEND both in and out of the classroom

  • Deliver structured interventions and adapted learning activities

  • Lead small groups and provide one to one support where needed

  • Cover lessons and support learning continuity across the school

  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support individual plans

  • Monitor and share pupil progress and development

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting

  • Confidence leading interventions and managing small groups

  • Comfortable providing class cover when required

  • Good understanding of autism, communication needs, and emotional regulation

  • HLTA qualification preferred

Role Details

  • Full time Monday to Friday term time only 8.30am to 3.30pm

  • Immediate start with interviews and trials taking place

  • Child and Adult DBS on the update service is highly desirable
