Higher Level Teaching Assistant SEND
A highly inclusive and well-resourced primary school in Enfield is seeking an experienced and confident HLTA to support across their specialist SEN provision from September.
The school has over 800 pupils on roll and is recognised for its strong commitment to supporting children with additional needs. Their SEN provision includes three specialist classes, organised by both age group and level of need, supporting pupils across a broad range of SEN requirements. Around 30 pupils currently have EHCPs in place.
This is a varied and rewarding role, working across the SEN classes to support teaching and learning, deliver targeted interventions, and help create a calm, structured and engaging environment for pupils to thrive. The school offers excellent facilities, extensive outdoor space, and a nurturing atmosphere, including the support of a therapy dog to promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
The leadership team is looking for experienced HLTAs who are adaptable, proactive and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold previous experience working within SEN settings or specialist provision
- Qualified as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, or experience in the role
- Be confident leading small group interventions and supporting learning across different age groups
- Have a calm, patient and flexible approach
- Be experienced in supporting children with a range of needs, including autism and communication difficulties
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive staff team
- Be committed to making a meaningful difference to pupils’ development and progress
