Inclusion Advisory Teacher – KS2 & KS3 | Barnet

Barnet, North London
KS2 & KS3 | Upper Primary & Lower Secondary
ASAP / After October Half Term Start
Full-time preferred | Two part-time teachers considered

Parker Smith Inclusion is working with an education service in Barnet seeking an experienced and adaptable Inclusion Advisory Teacher to support pupils across three school settings.

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working beyond the boundaries of one classroom. You will work with upper primary and lower secondary pupils who are at risk of exclusion, helping schools maintain engagement and provide the right support before pupils become further disconnected from education.

The role covers KS2 and KS3, so it could suit an experienced primary or secondary teacher with a strong understanding of inclusion, behaviour and supporting pupils who may be struggling within a mainstream school environment.

The role

Working across three schools, you will provide targeted teaching and inclusion support for pupils who are at risk of exclusion.

Your work will focus on helping pupils remain engaged with their education, while working within different school environments and adapting your approach to the individual circumstances of each pupil.

You will be expected to:

  • Teach and support pupils across KS2 and KS3

  • Work specifically with children and young people who are at risk of exclusion

  • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may have become disengaged from education

  • Adapt your teaching and communication style to meet different needs

  • Work across three school settings

  • Contribute to an inclusive approach that supports pupils to remain successfully engaged in education

  • Work collaboratively with school staff around the pupils you are supporting

Who are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching KS2 and/or KS3-aged pupils

  • Confidence supporting pupils who may present with behavioural, emotional or engagement needs

  • A calm, consistent and relationship-led approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different school teams

  • Availability to start ASAP or after October half term

Desirable:

  • Experience within an inclusion, SEMH, behaviour, alternative provision or outreach-focused role

  • Experience supporting pupils at risk of suspension or permanent exclusion

  • Experience working across more than one school or education setting

  • A driver, due to the multi-site nature of the position

Why consider this Inclusion Advisory Teacher role?

What makes this position different is the opportunity to work at an important point in a pupil's education — before exclusion becomes the outcome.

Rather than being based with one class for the entire week, you will work across KS2 and KS3 settings, using your teaching experience to help pupils who need a more individualised approach to remain engaged with school.

The service would ideally appoint one full-time teacher, but they are also happy to consider two part-time teachers, making this worth discussing if you are an experienced teacher looking for greater flexibility.

The position is expected to run until the end of the academic year, and interviews can be arranged conveniently via Microsoft Teams.
