Location: Havering, Essex
Pay: £95–£100 per day PAYE
Contract: Long-term, with the opportunity to go permanent
We are looking for an Independence Support Mentor for a specialist post-16 SEND setting in Havering, supporting young people aged 16+ with needs including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and SEMH.
You'll help young people develop practical skills for adult life, from cooking and shopping to managing money, using public transport and building confidence in the community.
Who we're looking for
Experience in support work, care, youth work, mentoring or education would be useful. Previous post-16 experience isn't essential, but you'll need to be patient, approachable and confident helping young people work towards greater independence.
The role involves building positive relationships, encouraging decision-making and supporting learners with everyday challenges, both in the setting and out in the community.
