Location: Havering, Essex
Pay: £95–£100 per day PAYE
Contract: Long-term, with the opportunity to go permanent
Parker Smith Inclusion is looking for an Independence Support Mentor to work in a specialist post-16 SEND setting in Havering, supporting young people aged 16+ with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and SEMH.
The role is all about helping young people build the skills and confidence they need for adult life. This could involve supporting them with everyday tasks such as cooking, shopping, managing money and using public transport, as well as helping them become more confident and independent in the community.
What we're looking for
Experience in support work, care, youth work, mentoring or education would be useful. Previous post-16 experience isn't essential, but you'll need to be patient, approachable and comfortable supporting young people with different needs.
You'll be helping learners make decisions, develop practical skills and overcome everyday challenges. Being able to build positive relationships, encourage independence and offer support without taking over will be important.
Why Parker Smith Inclusion?
We specialise in SEND recruitment and offer transparent PAYE pay, personalised job matching and ongoing support throughout your placement. We also have over 400 five-star Google reviews from educators.
