Special Educational Needs (SEND) Teachers – January 2027 Opportunities

Newham, Tower Hamlets & Hackney | Permanent and Long-Term Positions

Ready to make your next move in teaching this January?

October half-term can be a natural time to reflect on your current role, your career ambitions and what you want from the rest of the academic year. If you have been considering handing in your notice, exploring a new school or taking your first steps into SEND education, we would love to hear from you.

At Parker Smith Inclusion, we specialise exclusively in SEND recruitment, working closely with specialist schools and mainstream schools with dedicated SEND provisions across Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney.

We understand that finding the right teaching role is about far more than securing your next position. It is about finding a setting where your values are respected, your professional development is supported and you can make a meaningful difference to the pupils you teach.

The Opportunities

We are working with a range of schools seeking passionate and committed teachers for January 2027, with opportunities across permanent and long-term specialist positions.

Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities may include working with pupils with:

  • Autism and complex learning needs.
  • Severe, moderate or additional learning difficulties.
  • Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Communication and interaction needs.
  • Additional needs within mainstream school SEND provisions.

We welcome applications from experienced SEN Teachers, qualified mainstream teachers looking to transition into SEND, and Early Career Teachers who are committed to developing a career in specialist education.

You do not necessarily need to have worked in a special school before. We are interested in your teaching experience, your approach to inclusion and your willingness to understand and respond to the individual needs of every pupil.

What We Look For

We are keen to speak with teachers who:

  • Hold QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have a genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
  • Believe in understanding the individual behind the needs, recognising that every pupil has their own strengths, challenges and potential.
  • Are patient, reflective and adaptable in their teaching practice.
  • Value collaboration with teaching assistants, therapists, families and wider school teams.
  • Are committed to creating safe, nurturing and engaging learning environments.

Experience within SEND, autism, complex needs or SEMH settings is beneficial, but we are equally interested in teachers who can demonstrate the right values and a genuine commitment to developing their practice.

Why Work with Parker Smith Inclusion?

We believe recruitment should be ethical, transparent and centred around people.

As a specialist SEND consultancy, we take the time to understand what matters to you, rather than simply matching you to the next available vacancy.

When you work with Parker Smith Inclusion, you can expect:

  • A supportive team: Recruiters who understand the SEND sector and are here to support you throughout your job search and beyond.
  • Honest, transparent communication: A clear understanding of the school, expectations, responsibilities and opportunity before you make a decision.
  • Career-focused guidance: We have a track record of supporting teachers into SEND and helping them develop their careers within specialist education.
  • Permanent and long-term opportunities: We focus on meaningful, consistent placements that allow teachers to build relationships with pupils and schools.
  • Roles aligned with your goals: We take your experience, ambitions and preferred working environment into consideration when discussing suitable opportunities.

We recognise that changing schools can be a significant decision, particularly when you are already committed to your pupils and colleagues. Our aim is to make that process supportive, informed and as straightforward as possible.

Considering a January 2027 Move?

Whether you are ready for a new challenge, looking for a more supportive environment or curious about moving from mainstream teaching into SEND, we would welcome a confidential conversation.

You do not need to have made a final decision about leaving your current role to explore what might be available.

Let’s find a role where you can feel supported, develop your teaching practice and make a lasting difference.
