January SEND Teachers - Permanent
Autism Specialist School
Newham
M1 - M6 Payscale with SEN Point
Parker Smith Inclusion have been supporting an autism specialist school based in Newham with their Teacher recruitment for the last 3 years and they are seeking new teachers from January 2027. This school is part of a larger trust which is well known for its staff retention, support and training programs, investing in their staff, providing clear pathways to middle & senior leadership. Does that sound like something you want to be part of?
This special school is getting a brand new building based in a new location of Beckton for January 27 where they will have ability to support over 300 students, all the way through from Early Years to Post-16, offering the SEND children of Newham a fantastic opportunity to further their education and life skills.
To be a successful teacher within this setting you need to be compassionate, friendly, work well as part of a team and have a true understanding and passion for young people with autism and complex needs. All the learners will be learning from a modified curriculum, with engagement models, sensory & play based learning, practical based learning and ability to be involved in enrichment outside of the school gates.
All the students that attend this autism specialist school have an EHCP with ASC, complex needs, cognitive learning delays, speech & language/communication needs, social, emotional, behaviour needs. You will teach a small class of up to 6 students that all have a 1:1 or 2:1 LSA, the classes are created on ability, meaning there will be mixed ages within your class, you will be expected to have the confidence to manage the LSAs and advice them on the support their providing as/when required.
Parker Smith Inclusion has evidence from other SEND Teachers that have been placed at this school and are continuing to thrive in the temporary school setting, think how much more you could thrive in a brand new building with access to some many more resources?
To be part of this amazing school & team you'll need to have;
