A specialist SEND school is seeking a dedicated KS3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September, supporting students aged 11–14 with complex needs. This role offers the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people while gaining invaluable experience within a highly supportive environment.
You will be working within small classes of 10–12 students, alongside an experienced team consisting of a Class Teacher, HLTA, and three SEN Teaching Assistants. The school prides itself on its collaborative approach, ensuring both students and staff receive the support they need to thrive.
Candidates must be comfortable supporting students with personal care needs, although full training will be provided for those who are willing to learn. The school also offers a comprehensive training programme, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop specialist SEND skills and knowledge.
This role is particularly well suited to individuals in a current Teaching Assistant position who are seeking to gain SEND experience, or those with personal experience who want to share their passion in a role. Social science and child-related graduates who are considering future careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, Teaching, Therapy are also encouraged to apply.
The working hours are 8:30am – 3:30pm, with training sessions taking place until 5:00pm every other Wednesday. A permanent position will be available after two successful terms.
