Lead Teacher of Maths | Science | STEM - Hackney

We are seeking an inspiring and ambitious Lead Teacher of Maths, Science & STEM to join a forward-thinking Pupil Referral Unit in Central London.

This is more than a middle leadership role. It’s an opportunity to shape futures for young people who have faced barriers to mainstream education and help them rediscover confidence, curiosity, and success.

You’ll lead the strategic development of Maths, Science and STEM across KS3–KS4, driving high-quality teaching, raising aspirations, and creating meaningful pathways for students through engaging, real-world learning.

The Role

• Lead Maths, Science and STEM across the school
• Drive outstanding teaching and learning at KS3–KS4
• Develop an engaging and ambitious curriculum
• Use data effectively to improve outcomes and progress
• Promote numeracy and scientific thinking across the wider curriculum
• Lead CPD, coaching and support staff development
• Create exciting STEM enrichment opportunities and partnerships

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has strong subject knowledge in Maths and/or Science
• Has experience raising attainment across KS3–KS4
• Can motivate, inspire and lead others
• Understands the needs of students with SEMH and behavioural challenges
• Is resilient, creative, and solution-focused
• Believes every young person deserves the chance to succeed
