Salary: £90 – £110 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (Term Time Only)

Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be working in close collaboration with a fantastic school in Chelmsford, currently seeking a passionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils, offering a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner is empowered to thrive. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students with behavioural needs to engage positively with their learning and form meaningful connections within the school and wider community.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils across both primary and secondary phases with behavioural and emotional regulation
  • Building strong, trusting relationships to promote engagement and positive outcomes
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to deliver personalised support
  • Encouraging participation in enrichment opportunities, off-site learning, and community-based activities – the school places a strong emphasis on outdoor education and experiential learning
  • Helping to create a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment that enables all pupils to reach their potential

About You:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (in an educational, youth work, or similar setting)
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • Resilient, consistent, and able to build positive relationships
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and helping young people succeed, regardless of background or circumstance
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
