Salary: £93 – £110 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (Term Time Only)

Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be working in close collaboration with a fantastic school in Chelmsford, currently seeking a passionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people.

The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every learner is encouraged to thrive. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them engage positively with their learning and build meaningful connections within the school and wider community.

The Role:

  • Support pupils across both primary and secondary phases with behavioural and emotional regulation
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to promote engagement and positive outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to deliver personalised support
  • Encourage participation in enrichment opportunities, including off-site learning and community-based activities, with a strong emphasis on outdoor and experiential learning
  • Help create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where all pupils can reach their full potential

About You:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (in education, youth work, or a similar setting)
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • Resilient, consistent, and confident in building positive relationships
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and supporting young people to succeed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
