Are you passionate about supporting children with SEND and helping them build confidence, independence and positive relationships?

We’re working with a welcoming SEND school in Harlow that is looking for a Learning Mentor to join their team as soon as possible.

You’ll be supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASC, ADHD and SLD, helping them feel settled, access learning and get the most out of their school day.

About the Role

As a Learning Mentor, you’ll work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide both 1:1 and classroom-based support.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEND

  • Helping pupils access lessons and classroom activities

  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing

  • Encouraging pupils to develop their independence and confidence

  • Supporting outdoor learning and other activities

  • Helping create a calm, structured and nurturing environment

  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff

About You

The school is looking for someone who is:

  • Calm, patient and empathetic

  • Confident building positive relationships with children

  • Comfortable supporting behaviour and emotional needs

  • Adaptable, proactive and willing to get stuck in

  • Passionate about working with children with SEND

  • Able to work well as part of a wider team

Previous experience working with children with SEND is desirable but not essential. Experience from education, care, youth work, support work or similar backgrounds could also be highly relevant.

About the School

You’ll be joining a supportive and experienced team in a specialist SEND setting, with small class sizes and a strong focus on personalised support.

The school offers professional development and accredited training, with opportunities for the role to become permanent.

Hours: 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday
