A MS, 2 form entry Primary school in East London are seeking a Learning Mentor to start in September 2025, this school also has a PMLD resource provision. Working as a Learning Mentor you will be part of the pastoral team primarily working with children that could be struggling within the school setting, this could be due to SEMH, behavioural challenges or personal circumstances (eg, home life) . You will be expected to work across the whole school, therefore it requires a candidate that is able to work well in a busy environment and thrive off this.
We're looking for candidates that have proven experience of communicating with families in regards to sensitive topics, able to handle information professionally and be aware of the language they use in-front of parents/care givers.
Other required experience will include:
- 1:1 mentoring, ability to build strong relationships
- Carried out small group work, such as intervention or activity based learning
- Organised and ability to work fast and effectively with pupil information
- Create and implement behaviour management plans and/or adapt timetables.
- Attending annual reviews and case conferences.
- Strong administration skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to engage and get children to engage with you, being a positive role model.
- Experience within SEMH and/or SEN, ideally within Primary aged children.
