Setting: Specialist SEND provision
Hours: Full-time
Start date: September
Parker Smith Inclusion is looking for Learning Support Assistants to work in a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
You'll be working alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff, helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills and build independence in ways that are meaningful to them.
The role includes:
-
Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
-
Helping pupils engage with learning and develop social skills.
-
Adapting activities to suit individual abilities and needs.
-
Supporting communication and encouraging independence.
-
Providing personal care where required.
-
Creating a safe, positive and supportive environment.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone patient, caring and reliable who genuinely enjoys working with children and young people.
Previous experience in SEND, SLD or PMLD settings would be beneficial, but it's not essential. A willingness to learn, a flexible approach and the ability to build positive relationships are just as important.
You'll need to understand that every pupil is different and that progress can look different for everyone.
Why Parker Smith Inclusion?
We specialise in SEND recruitment, offering transparent PAYE pay, access to specialist opportunities and ongoing support throughout your placement. We also have over 400 five-star Google reviews from educators.
