We are proud to be working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive SEND school in Harlow, who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team from January.
This is a full-time, term-time only role supporting primary-aged pupils (5–11 years old) with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and SLD. You will be working within small classes of approximately five pupils, allowing for highly personalised support and the opportunity to build strong, meaningful relationships.
The school places a strong emphasis on holistic development and outdoor learning, with an established Forest School programme that provides pupils with valuable hands-on experiences to support their emotional regulation, social skills, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and SLD
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible, and inclusive lessons
- Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and growing independence
- Support pupils during Forest School sessions and wider outdoor learning activities
- Help create and maintain a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff as part of a dedicated team

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrate a calm, patient, and caring approach
- Be confident in building positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Be adaptable, proactive, and willing to learn
- Show a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Have enthusiasm for outdoor learning and a holistic approach to education
