Parker Smith is currently working in partnership with an expanding SEND specialist school in Witham. This school is vastly known for its strong therapeutic approach while committing to ensuring every pupil is supported both academically and personally.
This provision aims to support pupils and young people ages 4 – 19 with a range of additional needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH and SLD. Many of their pupils require tailored and structured learning to help them throughout their educational journey. Staff constantly work together to provide a safe and positive environment so the pupils can thrive.
This SEND provision are currently searching for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis, with genuine opportunities for long-term progression.
As an LSA, you will support pupils on either a 1:1 basis or within small groups. This will allow you to help them access lessons while developing their emotional and social skills throughout the school day. As a member of the team, you will be working closely with other staff, therapists and pastoral teams to help deliver personalised support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and emotional security
- Supporting learning activities both inside and outside the classroom environment
- Implementing tailored support plans designed by teaching and SEND specialists
- Encouraging independence, communication, and active participation in learning
- Remaining calm, patient, and consistent when managing challenging behaviour or emotional dysregulation
- Providing personal care where required, with dignity and respect
- Adapting flexibly to support across different classes, age groups, and learning environments
As soon as you start with this provision, you will take part in a comprehensive 5-day induction programme followed by a structured shadowing with experienced staff. They also offer ongoing specialist SEND training, including behaviour support and manual handling.
