Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with SEND? Are you keen to make a difference in the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career?
I am working with a mainstream primary school based in Hackney, that is looking for a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a girl with Downs syndrome in key stage 2 but working at a lower level than her peers. It is required you have at least 1-year of experience working with Down syndrome and also Makaton, training will also be provided.
The Ideal Candidate –SEN Learning Support Mentor
- Experience of working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs
- 1-year experience working with Downs Syndrome
- Makaton experience, at least basic experience (training can be provided)
- Have a genuine desire to build a career around Special Educational Needs
- Experience working with a child with complex needs
