Learning Support Assistant
London Borough of Merton
Specialist SEN School
Full-time (term time only), Monday to Friday 8:30am - 16:00pm
£450 - £500 PAYE per week; weekly payment
Parker Smith Inclusion is excited to be working closely with an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ SEN school in Morden, offering a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. This school caters to children aged 3-19 with a wide range of learning difficulties, Autism/ASC, and complex needs. Many of the children have Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN), with some being non-verbal, and others using wheelchairs or requiring mobility support.
This is no ordinary school — it’s a place where creativity and therapy blend seamlessly with education. The school offers fantastic facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, to ensure that every child has access to a holistic approach to learning and development. Every day brings new challenges, but it also brings the satisfaction of making a genuine difference in a child’s life as a Learning Support Assistant.
What is it like to work in an SEN school?
Working as a Learning Support Assistant in a specialist SEN environment is a truly rewarding experience. It’s not just about teaching – it’s about building strong, trusting relationships with children and helping them overcome everyday challenges. You will be part of a team dedicated to ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and supported. No two days are the same; one day you might be helping a child in the hydrotherapy pool, the next you could be assisting with feeding and personal care, or working with therapists to support a child’s communication needs. It requires patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.
