Learning Support Assistant
- Are you passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning?
- Do you thrive in inclusive, supportive school environments where every student feels valued, safe, and heard?
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a forward-thinking and welcoming school this September.
If you're patient, proactive, and have a heart for helping young people succeed—not just academically, but socially and emotionally—this could be your perfect next step.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be the go-to person for students who need an extra cheerleader in their corner. Your days will be a balance of supporting students one-to-one or in small groups, helping them access the curriculum, boost their confidence, and achieve their personal best.
You’ll work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and outside professionals to build an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates differences and nurtures every learner.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND or SEMH needs
- Assist in planning, preparing, and adapting resources to meet individual learning goals
- Promote positive behaviour, self-regulation, and independent learning
- Support pupils in developing key communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
- Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Create engaging classroom displays and contribute to a positive school vibe
- Liaise with families and external agencies to support holistic student progress
- Be an active part of school life—staff meetings, events, and team spirit included!
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with diverse needs
- Patience, empathy, and a bucketload of enthusiasm
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Experience in education, care, or youth support is a plus, but not essential!
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing at all times
Whether you're a recent graduate in psychology or education, a seasoned youth worker, or someone considering a fulfilling career change into education—we want to hear from you!
What’s In It for You?
- A supportive, inclusive, and collaborative school environment
- Regular CPD opportunities and professional development pathways
- Hands-on experience in a SEND or mainstream school setting
- The chance to make a real difference in the life of a child every single day
- A role that’s so much more than a job—it’s a purpose
Due to high volume, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted within 5 working days. However, we’ll keep your details on file for future roles that might be a perfect match!
