Autism and SEMH Teaching Assistant - Mole Valley, Surrey

Long-Term to Permanent Contract, September 2026 Start

Daily Rate: £105 to £115 PAYE, Weekly Payment

You have probably worked with young people who present as fine. They answer questions, keep their head down, and get through the day. But you know something is not right. You can see it. The question is whether the school around you gives you the time, the tools, and the trust to actually do something about it.

Some young people with Autism and ADHD have spent years learning to mask. They have figured out how to look like they are coping, right up until everything becomes too much. Working with them takes a particular kind of attention. It takes someone who does not need a crisis to know that a pupil is struggling. Could that be you?

This is a specialist SEN school in Mole Valley, Surrey, supporting pupils aged 7 to 16 with Autism, ADHD, and co-occurring social and emotional needs. Pupils here carry real complexity. The school is small, the classes are small, and the adults around each young person actually know them. That sounds obvious. In practice, it is rarer than it should be.

The curriculum is built around each pupil individually. Staff and the therapy team plan together, which means your observations about a young person are listened to. You are part of the picture, not an extra pair of hands.

What you will be doing day to day:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs in small groups and 1:1
  • Building trust with young people who may have had difficult or inconsistent experiences in previous schools
  • Helping pupils stay regulated enough to learn, on the hard days as much as the good ones
  • Working closely with the class Teacher and wider team around each child

No previous school experience is required. If you have supported young people in any setting and you understand what it means to earn trust slowly, your background is worth discussing.

The school is accessible from Guildford, Leatherhead, Reigate, Redhill, Godalming, and Epsom.

Pay is £105-£115 per day, PAYE only.
