Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Cover Supervisor to join our supportive team.

This is a dual role where you will support pupils with a range of needs both in class and on a 1:1 basis, while also stepping up as a Cover Supervisor when required to deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

What you’ll do

As a Learning Support Assistant: 

  • Support pupils with additional needs in class, small groups, or 1:1

  • Assist with delivering tailored interventions and strategies

  • Encourage and motivate pupils to engage in learning

  • Promote inclusion and positive behaviour within the classroom

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to support individual needs

  • Provide feedback on pupils’ progress and well-being

  • Liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies as required

As a Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Provide feedback to teachers on class engagement and outcomes

  • Act as a Form Tutor when required

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Flexible, proactive, and resilient approach

  • Good organisational and classroom management skills

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a school or youth work setting

  • Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with SEN

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification)
