A warm, inclusive, and forward-thinking SEND school in Epping is seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join their expanding team. You will be supporting primary-aged pupils (5–11 years) with a range of needs, including SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and SLD. With small class sizes of around five pupils, this role provides the opportunity to build strong relationships and deliver highly personalised support.
A standout feature of the school is its strong outdoor learning ethos, underpinned by a well-established Forest School programme. Full training and ongoing support are provided, enabling staff to confidently deliver outdoor learning sessions that promote confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience through hands-on, nature-based activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality 1:1 and small group support
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
- Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and independence
- Take an active role in Forest School sessions and outdoor learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff
- HLTAs may cover lessons and lead targeted group interventions
Person Specification:
- Experience supporting children with SEND (SEMH, ASC, ADHD, SLD) is highly desirable
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach with strong relationship-building skills
- Confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
- Comfortable working outdoors as well as in the classroom
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to professional development
- HLTA applicants should have relevant experience or HLTA status
