Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Pay: £105 per day
Contract: Long-term
Hours: School hours, including after-school club until 5:30pm

Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets who are looking for a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working within a primary school environment, supporting children's learning and helping create a positive, engaging classroom where every child feels encouraged and included.

The role will involve providing classroom support throughout the school day, assisting with learning activities and supporting pupils' individual needs. You will also be required to support the school's after-school club, staying until 5:30pm.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, encourage pupil participation and help children develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of engaging classroom activities.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who need additional help with their learning.
• Supporting children's development across the primary curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence within the classroom.
• Helping to create a welcoming, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with different learning abilities and individual needs.
• Assisting with classroom organisation, resources and daily routines.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Supporting the after-school club, organising activities and ensuring children remain safe, engaged and well cared for until 5:30pm.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Previous experience supporting children within a primary school or educational setting.
• A good understanding of primary classroom practice and children's learning and development.
• Confidence supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff.
• The ability to encourage positive behaviour and create meaningful relationships with pupils.
• Flexibility to stay until 5:30pm to support the after-school club.
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
