Not every important lesson happens behind a desk.
For many children and young people with SEND, learning how to make choices, follow routines, communicate needs and become more independent can be just as important as academic progress.
Parker Smith Inclusion is looking for a Life Skills & Independence Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND setting in Barnet.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys helping pupils develop practical skills they can use beyond the classroom.
What could you be supporting?
Working alongside teaching and specialist staff, you may help pupils develop skills around:

Organisation

Social interaction

Preparing for greater independence

Participating in practical learning activities

Building confidence in unfamiliar situations

Developing age-appropriate responsibility
You will also support classroom learning, but the emphasis is on helping pupils become more confident doing things for themselves.

Previous school experience is useful, but relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
