As an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA, you already understand that some students need learning delivered differently. For many young people with additional needs, confidence in maths has been lost through frustration, anxiety, or negative experiences within mainstream education. The right support can completely change that.
This specialist provision in Bexley supports students through a creative and therapeutic approach to learning, helping them reconnect with education in a way that feels safe, engaging, and achievable.
The Role
As a Maths HLTA, you’ll support and deliver Functional Skills and GCSE-level maths interventions, helping students build both academic skills and confidence.
You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to adapt learning for students with SEND and SEMH needs, using practical and personalised approaches to keep students engaged.
This is a role where relationships matter just as much as subject knowledge.
Many students may struggle with emotional regulation, confidence, or engagement in learning, so your patience, consistency, and ability to build trust will be key.
