This Maths Teacher job in North West London is based within a specialist alternative provision supporting pupils aged 7–16 with autism and additional needs. Many students have experienced challenges in mainstream education and benefit from a structured, therapeutic, and highly personalised learning environment.
With small class sizes of around six pupils, this SEN school allows you to deliver tailored Maths lessons that meet individual learning styles. You will teach across KS2–KS4, supporting students working towards Functional Skills and GCSE Maths, while helping them build confidence, resilience, and engagement in education.
As a Maths Teacher in this alternative provision, you will work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams to provide a consistent, trauma-informed approach that supports both academic progress and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver differentiated Maths lessons across KS2, KS3 and KS4
• Support pupils with autism, SEMH, and additional needs
• Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual EHCP targets
• Build positive relationships to support behaviour and engagement
• Prepare students for Functional Skills and GCSE Maths
Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Maths in secondary, SEN, or alternative provision settings
• Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching
• Calm, resilient, and proactive approach
• Passion for SEND, SEMH, and alternative education
