Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a specialist residential school looking for a Night Time Child Care Officer to join their residential team and provide consistent, caring support to young people throughout the night and into the morning.
You’ll play an important role in creating a safe, calm and positive environment where young people can feel secure, understood and cared for.
The Role
As a Night Time Child Care Officer, you’ll be responsible for supporting young people throughout the night, ensuring their wellbeing and safety while helping maintain a calm residential environment.
You’ll be:
- Supporting young people throughout the night and helping them feel safe and settled.
- Providing a calm and reassuring presence when young people need support.
- Building positive, trusting relationships and becoming a consistent adult they can rely on.
- Supporting young people with their individual needs and routines.
- Working alongside the wider residential team to ensure consistency of care.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
- Supporting young people as they prepare for the morning and helping them start the day positively.
- Responding appropriately to situations that may arise during the night.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and young people and understands the importance of patience, consistency and strong relationships.
You might already have experience as a:
- Residential Child Care Worker
- Residential Support Worker
- Teaching Assistant
- Learning Support Assistant
- Behaviour Mentor
- Youth Worker
- Care Worker
- SEN Support Worker
Previous experience in a residential or specialist setting would be beneficial, but it’s not all about your job title.
What matters most is that you are calm, reliable, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with young people.
You’ll need to be comfortable working independently overnight while also being a strong team player when working alongside the wider residential staff.

- Start: ASAP
- Contract: Temp to Perm
- Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
- Shift: Night shifts
- Pay: £125 – £140 per day PAYE
