Nurture ASC Teacher – Special School
Location: Cricklewood, North West London
Salary: £40,317 – £62,496 per annum (Inner London MPS/UPS)
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Start Date: September 2026
Do you believe that when children feel safe, understood and valued, real learning can begin?
For many pupils, school has meant confusion, exclusion or feeling misunderstood. With the right teacher, that can change.
We are recruiting a passionate Nurture ASC Teacher to join a growing specialist school in Cricklewood, supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC) and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This forward-thinking setting supports pupils aged 7–16 who have often found mainstream education challenging, providing an integrated, therapeutic approach with a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, personalised learning and calm, structured environments where pupils can re-engage with education and truly thrive.
As an experienced Nurture ASC educator, you will have the confidence and compassion to support and re-engage students with Autism and SEMH needs. Many of these young people have faced early barriers to education and sometimes what they need most is a relatable, grounded adult who can mentor and guide them through their school journey. This is where your presence makes all the difference.
The Role
You will plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs, teach small classes across primary or secondary age ranges, and create safe, nurturing classroom environments. You will support pupils' emotional regulation, communication and social development, assess progress and adapt your approach accordingly, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside therapists, SEN support staff and families.
Who This Role Would Suit
Applications are welcomed from experienced SEN Teachers and mainstream teachers looking to transition into specialist education. The current teaching team bring a wide range of backgrounds, including experience in SEMH settings, youth work, residential care and alternative education. You will ideally have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), experience supporting pupils with Autism and/or SEMH needs, a calm and trauma-informed approach to behaviour management, creativity, patience and resilience, a genuine passion for helping young people succeed in school and beyond, and a commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice and ongoing professional development.
What's on Offer
The school offers a salary of £40,317 to £62,496 with annual reviews, enhanced pension contributions, ongoing CPD and clear career progression pathways, a supportive and collaborative staff culture, access to wellbeing support including counselling services, a cycle to work scheme, life cover and retail discounts, and a genuinely rewarding role with real and lasting impact.
Why This Role Matters
The right teacher can completely change the trajectory of a child's relationship with education, particularly for those who have struggled in mainstream settings. This role is about more than delivering lessons. It is about helping pupils rebuild trust, develop confidence and achieve outcomes that once felt out of reach.
If you are looking for a Nurture ASC teaching role in Cricklewood where you can make a real and lasting difference, this is an exceptional opportunity.
