Could you be the teacher who helps a pupil rediscover their confidence, overcome barriers to learning and see what they are truly capable of?

A specialist education setting in West Drayton is looking for a passionate Nurture Teacher to support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs. This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful, personalised teaching in an environment where relationships, consistency and individual progress matter.

If you believe every pupil deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the challenges they face, this could be the right next step for you.

About the Role

As a Nurture Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs. You will create a structured, supportive classroom where pupils can develop their confidence, independence and emotional regulation while re-engaging with education.

You will combine high expectations with a nurturing approach, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve meaningful progress.

The Role

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.

  • Teach pupils with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Maintain a calm, consistent and structured learning environment.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet different learning needs.

  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.

  • Support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and personal development.

  • Contribute to EHCP targets, individual learning plans and intervention programmes.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.

  • Promote inclusion, independence, resilience and positive learning experiences.

About You

You may be an experienced Nurture Teacher, SEN Teacher, SEMH Teacher or mainstream Teacher looking to develop your career within specialist education.

You will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • An understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching.

  • The ability to build positive relationships and establish clear boundaries.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • A commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.

Most importantly, you will understand that behaviour is often a form of communication. You will recognise the importance of consistency, patience and positive relationships while maintaining high expectations for every pupil.

Why This Role Matters

For some pupils, the right learning environment can make all the difference. Your role will be to help pupils rebuild confidence, develop essential life skills and establish a more positive relationship with education.

Through consistent support and purposeful teaching, you will help pupils recognise their strengths and make progress both academically and personally.

What You Can Expect

  • Permanent, full-time position.

  • M1–UPS3 Outer London Pay Scale plus SEN Allowance.

  • A specialist setting supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
