Nurture Teacher & Assistant SENCO

Location: Hillingdon, West London
Salary: £201.01 - £298.05 per day PAYE
Job Type: Full time, Temp to Perm
Start Date: September 2026

About the role

What if the right teacher could help a young person see school differently?

Some pupils do not need more pressure. They need someone who understands what is getting in the way of their learning and knows how to help them move forward.

A specialist education setting in Hillingdon is looking for a Nurture Teacher & Assistant SENCO to join its team.

This is a unique opportunity to combine teaching with SEND leadership, supporting pupils with additional needs while helping strengthen the wider provision across the setting.

The setting

The setting supports young people with additional needs, including SEMH, within a structured, nurturing environment.

The focus is on building positive relationships, removing barriers to learning and helping pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience.

The role

As a Nurture Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Adapt teaching for SEN and SEMH needs

  • Build positive relationships with pupils

  • Assess and monitor progress

  • Promote independence and confidence

  • Maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour

As Assistant SENCO, you will:

  • Support the SENCO with SEND provision

  • Help identify and assess additional needs

  • Support teachers with effective SEND strategies

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and processes

  • Work with families and external professionals

  • Help develop inclusive SEND practice

Who we are looking for

This role would suit an experienced teacher with QTS who is looking to develop their SEND leadership experience.

You will ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH and be confident adapting teaching around individual needs.

You will be:

  • Patient and emotionally intelligent

  • Creative and adaptable

  • Confident managing behaviour

  • Organised and highly communicative

  • Committed to SEND and inclusion

  • Able to build strong relationships

Why this role matters

For some young people, success at school can feel out of reach.

Nurture can change that.

You could help a pupil complete work independently, ask for help instead of giving up or simply begin to believe they are capable of achieving more.

As Assistant SENCO, you can also help ensure the right support is in place around them.

What you can expect

  • Full time, temp to perm opportunity

  • £201.01 - £298.05 per day PAYE

  • September 2026 start

  • Teaching and SEND leadership responsibilities

  • Specialist education environment

  • Professional development opportunities

  • Opportunity to develop your SENCO experience

  • Ongoing support from Parker Smith Inclusion
