For some pupils, the biggest barrier to learning isn't their ability. It's anxiety, low confidence, difficult experiences or simply believing that they can't succeed.

We're working with a specialist education setting in West London that is looking for an experienced Nurture Teacher and Deputy SENCO to help pupils overcome those barriers, both through excellent classroom practice and strong SEND leadership.

About the Role

As a Nurture Teacher and Deputy SENCO, you'll combine classroom teaching with responsibility for supporting and developing SEND provision across the setting.

You'll teach engaging, differentiated lessons designed around the individual needs of pupils, while also working closely with the SENCO and wider staff team to ensure pupils receive the right support.

You will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons
• Support pupils with SEMH, SEN and additional learning needs
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Adapt teaching to remove barriers to learning
• Promote independence, resilience and confidence
• Monitor and assess pupil progress
• Support personalised interventions and approaches
• Work alongside the SENCO, teaching and pastoral teams
• Support the identification and assessment of additional needs
• Contribute to EHCP processes and reviews
• Help develop and review SEND provision
• Support staff with appropriate SEND strategies
• Liaise with families and relevant professionals
• Promote inclusive practice across the setting

About You

We're looking for an experienced teacher who is passionate about nurture, SEND and inclusive education, and who is keen to develop their SEND leadership experience.

You'll ideally have experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN or additional learning needs, alongside a strong understanding of how teaching can be adapted to meet individual needs.

You'll be:

Most importantly, you'll understand that behaviour is often communication and that effective SEND support starts with understanding the individual child, not simply their diagnosis or label.
