Some teaching roles are about delivering lessons. This one is about changing lives.

Success here isn't measured by exam results alone. It's found in the quiet moments, a student who speaks up for the first time, a young person who begins to believe in themselves, or a child who finally feels safe enough to learn. Every small breakthrough is a step towards a brighter future, and every day offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference.

About the School

This specialist secondary school in Hillingdon is dedicated to supporting young people aged 11–19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school specialises in working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated learning needs.

More than just a place of education, the school provides a safe, nurturing environment where every pupil is understood, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Through a therapeutic, relationship-led approach, staff work together to help students overcome barriers, build resilience, develop confidence, and rediscover a love of learning.

Every member of the team shares one common goal: ensuring that every young person leaves with the skills, self-belief, and independence needed to thrive in the next stage of their lives.

What makes the school special?

  • Specialist SEND provision with expertise in SEMH and Autism
  • Personalised learning pathways designed around every individual
  • A therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to behaviour and learning
  • A genuine commitment to emotional wellbeing and personal growth
  • A supportive, collaborative team where every success is celebrated
  • A structured environment that prepares students for adulthood, further education, and employment

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and inspiring Secondary Teacher to lead a mixed Year 7 and Year 8 nurture class.

This is an opportunity to teach far beyond the curriculum. Alongside delivering engaging Maths and English (Functional Skills) lessons, you'll help students develop confidence, communication skills, emotional regulation, and the belief that they can succeed.

You'll lead a team of three Teaching Assistants, creating a classroom where every student feels valued, supported, and able to achieve in their own way. Working closely with experienced teachers, therapists, and a wider multidisciplinary team, you'll have the support and resources needed to make a genuine impact.

Every lesson you teach, every relationship you build, and every piece of encouragement you give has the power to change the direction of a young person's future.

Who This Role Is For

This role is perfect for someone who believes that the best teaching starts with relationships.

Whether you're an experienced SEND teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to make a meaningful move into specialist education, you'll thrive here if you're patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people overcome challenges.

You'll be someone who:

  • Believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed
  • Brings warmth, positivity, and empathy into the classroom
  • Builds trusting relationships that inspire confidence and growth
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist professionals
  • Finds fulfilment in celebrating every achievement—no matter how small
  • Wants a career where the difference you make is visible every single day

If you're looking for a role where your teaching will have a lasting impact, not just on academic outcomes, but on confidence, independence, and futures, this could be the opportunity you've been searching for.

Interested?
