We are supporting a wonderfully warm and holistic primary special school in East London who are looking for a BAND 5 or 6 Occupational Therapist to join their collaborative and dedicated team. This is a setting where communication is celebrated in all its forms! Most pupils are pre-verbal and supported through PECS, Makaton, Core Boards and a truly child-centred, sensory-informed curriculum.
This is a setting where joy matters. Where learning is hands-on, playful and responsive. Where behaviour is understood through a positive behaviour support approach, and where every child is seen, heard and understood.
Small class sizes (around eight pupils with four support staff) allow for close relationships, meaningful interaction and personalised learning journeys.
Collaboration is a key element to working here. With a team of 6 Therapists and Therapy Assistants you will share a case-load of students, they have BAND 7 Therapists on site so supervision will be internal.
In addition to working in such a purpose led role, alongside passionate and collaborative colleagues, the school has access to lots of outdoor learning spaces, quite unique to this area of London. They have a wonderful 3 tiered soft play/sensory area adding even more enrichment for the children who attend.
