Occupational Therapist – Band 7 (or experienced Band 6 ready to step up)
North London (Barnet) | Full time | Flexible working

Supporting children to navigate their world with confidence and independence is work filled with meaning and purpose.

You may already be working at Band 7, or you might be a confident Band 6 ready for your next step. You will bring clinical curiosity, creativity and a genuine commitment to inclusion. Experience supporting children with autism, sensory processing differences or physical access needs is valuable, but more important is your ability to think flexibly, work collaboratively and focus on solutions.

We are working with a well-established Education Learning Service in North London, seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their team. This is a service that understands occupational therapy as more than intervention — it is about enabling participation, shaping environments, and ensuring every child can access school life in a meaningful way.

This is a varied, school-based role. You will spend the majority of your week working directly in schools, supporting pupils, advising staff and modelling strategies to improve access, regulation and engagement. You will contribute to developing staff understanding around sensory needs, motor development and environmental adaptations, while also supporting wider service delivery.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and other SEND professionals. There are opportunities to support and guide less experienced staff, contribute to service development, and influence practice at both an individual and systemic level.

There is a strong balance here between autonomy and support. You will manage your own diary and structure your week, with flexibility built into the role, alongside regular supervision and a team culture that values shared learning and professional dialogue.

If you are looking for a role that combines professional independence with genuine purpose, where you can shape practice, influence systems and create lasting impact, this is a great opportunity to consider.
