Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or behaviour mentor looking for a rewarding role beyond the classroom?
Do you want to use your experience to provide personalised, meaningful education for children who cannot currently attend school?

We are working with a well-regarded SEND service that supports children and young people across Kingston and Richmond boroughs. This long-term role involves delivering 1:1 tuition sessions to students with a range of needs, including Autism, SEMH, SLD, MLD, SpLD, and SLCN, either in the child’s home or in local community settings.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced TAs, HLTAs, or behaviour mentors who are confident in planning and delivering lessons independently and who have a passion for nurturing students outside the traditional classroom environment.

The Outreach Behaviour Mentor Role – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 teaching sessions to pupils unable to attend school due to SEND, EBSA or medical needs
  • Planning and delivering lessons aligned to the national curriculum, adapted to individual learning needs
  • Supporting emotional regulation and building trust through a consistent, trauma-informed approach
  • Travelling across Kingston and Richmond to deliver tuition in various settings
  • Working independently, while liaising with professionals and contributing to student progress reviews

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school environment (mainstream or specialist)
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum, must be confident with planning and delivering lessons
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism and SEMH, including challenging or dysregulated behaviour
  • Calm, resilient, and confident working one-to-one in alternative settings
  • Flexible with travel across the local area: sessions may vary daily

This role would suit:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants or HLTAs looking for a more autonomous and impactful position
  • Individuals passionate about personalised education and re-engaging pupils in learning
  • Those interested in outreach education, EBSA, alternative provision or reintegration support

Why You Should Apply:

  • Work one-to-one with pupils and see your direct impact on their confidence and progress
  • Enjoy flexibility and autonomy while being supported by a wider, experienced team
  • Be part of a service that is transforming the way children with SEND access education
  • ASAP start: interviews taking place now
