Outreach Learning Mentor Therapeutic Support for Young People

Location: Barking and Dagenham
Hours: Full time Monday to Friday 8 30am to 4 30pm

This is an opportunity to make a real difference for young people who need extra support to re-engage with learning and life.

We are recruiting an Outreach Learning Mentor to join a leading therapeutic organisation working across London. The team provides consistent guidance and care for vulnerable young people helping them regain stability, confidence, and purpose.

You will work with young people who have been out of education for long periods and may not yet be ready to return to mainstream school. Over two terms you will support induction, assessment, and transition providing stability, guidance, and therapeutic support as they take their next steps.

Many of the young people you will work with have social emotional and mental health needs or Autism Spectrum Condition. Some may have experienced trauma exploitation or other adverse experiences. Your role will be to build meaningful relationships support emotional regulation and provide interventions that empower them to progress at their own pace.

Attendance reached 93 percent and they are now thriving. Your support will help more young people achieve similar success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop personalised learning and support plans for each young person

  • Provide one-to-one therapeutic mentoring outside of a classroom setting

  • Help young people move from disengagement to stability confidence and achievement


What You Will Receive

  • Lunch and travel expenses covered during the working day

  • Full time hours Monday to Friday 8 30am to 4 30pm

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people with dysregulated behaviour and understanding the underlying factors

  • A trauma informed therapeutic approach

  • Compassion resilience and a genuine desire to create positive change
